Where professionals, people experiencing violence, and concerned community members learn about preventing, responding to, and obtaining assistance with domestic and family violence issues.
Welcome to the Illinois Family Violence Education Center
Brought to you by the Family Violence Coordinating Council of the Illinois 16th & 23rd Judicial Circuits
Domestic/Family violence can happen to anyone, from any background. It doesn’t discriminate based on age, race, sexual orientation, income, education, ability, or gender—anyone can suffer from abuse, at any time.
The Family Violence Education Center teaches professionals and community members how to prevent and respond to various kinds of domestic violence including: intimate partner violence, child abuse and neglect, abuse of people with disabilities and older adults, human trafficking, dating violence, and financial exploitation.
Whether you are a professional, a person experiencing abuse, a concerned family member, or caring community member, our courses and resources will broaden your knowledge, develop your skills and lead you to other resources. And one of the best parts is that all the courses are free!
The courses provided here are created by numerous community partners and we'd like to thanks them for helping us to make this education center a reality.
